Days 1–4 CAPE TOWN

Upon your arrival in Cape Town, your South African adventure begins with a three-night stay at the well-located Four Rosmead Guest House. Privately owned and operated, this boutique hotel is a favorite at YZ and enjoys a peaceful location in Oranjezicht, a serene suburb. The communal spaces include a comfortable lounge, breakfast room, veranda, and beautiful gardens complete with a swimming pool. During your stay, you’ll have easy access to explore Table Mountain, as the hotel is situated at its foothills.

Days 4–6 CAPE WHALE COAST

From Four Rosmead, you’ll make your way to the Cape Whale Coast, renowned for offering some of the best land-based whale watching in the world (June–October). Your next stop is the seaside town of Hermanus, where you’ll spend two nights at Abalone Guest Lodge, a stylish boutique property with an exceptional location next to Siever’s Point. Upon arrival, you can unwind in the inviting communal areas, complete with comfortable seating and cozy fireplaces, or relax by the swimming pool, taking in the stunning sea views. Shops, restaurants, and bars are within walking distance, and if you’re in the mood for further exploration, you can consider a hike or a visit to the Hemel-en-Aarde wine valley for a wine-tasting experience. However, the main attraction here is the abundant marine life. From May to November, you have the opportunity to spot whales right from the coast. For an even closer look, you can join a boat cruise, where you’ll have a chance to encounter the Marine Big Five and witness whales up close, along with seals, dolphins, sharks, and African penguins.

Days 6–10 SABI SANDS

After leaving Cape Town and the Winelands, you’ll spend the final few days of your trip on safari in the Sabi Sands, a private reserve bordering the renowned Kruger National Park. For the next four nights, you’ll stay at Notten’s Bush Camp, a family-owned and operated lodge that exudes a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere and is one of the original properties in the region. The communal areas include comfortable lounge and dining spaces, a bar, an open-air boma, and a deck, along with a spa and a 20-metre lap pool.
Accommodation consists of charming safari chalets, each featuring a well-appointed bedroom, a full en-suite bathroom, and sliding doors leading to a private deck with stunning views. The Sabi Sands area is home to the Big Five and is particularly famous for its leopard sightings. In addition to the Big Five, the reserve is teeming with wildlife, including cheetah, hyenas, jackals, wild dog, hippo, giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, various antelope species, and hundreds of bird species.
