Useful information about Tanzania

Tanzania has 2 major airports and a number of small national airports. Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) suitable for those visiting the Northern circuit and Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR) suitable for tourists visiting the southern parks.

Visa:

You must have a visa to travel to Tanzania. Apply for a visa online https://eservices.immigration.go.tz/visa/start# . ensure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your planned date of departure. 

Best time to travel: Tanzania can be visited all year round with different wildlife t spot at different times of the year. June and October are the driest months, April – May are the wettest months, July – September is the peak season for incredible sightings like the great migration and other wildlife sightings.

Payment: The official currency in Tanzania is the Tanzania shilling. Euros, US Dollars and other currencies can be exchanged locally. 

Photography in Tanzania: You can take beautiful pictures in Kenya even with your mobile. If you want to come home with great photos, you will need a camera with a zoom range at least ten times greater than a standard compact camera, or a 400mm lens on an SLR camera.

Think of spare batteries, a dust-free bag, keep in mind that it can take a lot of time to upload your photos with a USB cable in internet offices with often slow connections. Therefore, take enough memory cards with you. If you intend to take professional photos of the wildlife, please read carefully about using your camera to get the most out of it.
