This 11 days Kenya safari is a combined Kenya beach and wildlife safari package offering visitors a classic big – game viewing and relaxing holiday in Mombasa. 

On this safari package, you will experience the thrilling and authentic African safari in 5 of Kenya’s leading wildlife national parks that is Masai Mara National Reserve, Lake Nakuru National Reserve, Amboseli National Park, Tsavo West National Park and Tsavo East National Park which are home to a variety of wildlife including the Big Five “lions, leopards, cape buffaloes, rhinos and elephants”.

After the African Safari experience, you will head to Mombasa’s Diani Beach for a beach vacation.

Detailed itinerary of 11 Days Beach and Wildlife Kenya Safari

Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara 

To mark the start of your 11 days Beach and Kenya safari, you will be warmly welcomed by your guide at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or your guide will pick you up at the hotel in Nairobi after early breakfast. 

After a short briefing about the safari, you will depart for Masai Mara National reserve by road with a stopover in Narok at the rift valley view point, upon arrival you will check in at your lodge followed by lunch and then have a brief rest before going for your first game drive in the plains of Masai Mara. During the game drive, you will spot many animals including lions, leopards, cape buffaloes, giraffes, gazelles among others.

Later in the evening, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 2: Explore Masai Mara Plains 

Wake up early for a cup of coffee then head to the plains of Masai Mara for a morning game drive offering you a good chance of catching some great wildlife action as the animals are more active in the morning hours’ cooler temperatures. Return to the lodge for late breakfast and spend some hours relaxing and enjoying the lodge.

After lunch, you will head back to the reserve for an evening game drives exploring the endless plains more and enjoy more sights of the wildlife. 

Alternatively, you can have a full day game drive in the plains of Masai Mara, this is more recommended during the Wildebeest Migration season. In this case you have an early breakfast and head to the reserve with your packed lunch, spend the whole day exploring the vast plains of Masai Mara national reserve and enjoy sights of a variety of wildlife such as lions, leopards, cape buffaloes, gazelles, giraffes, elephants among others.

Day 3: Masai Mara – Lake Nakuru National Park 

After an early breakfast at the lodge, you will checkout and depart for Lake Nakuru National Park on a drive approximately 6 hours. Arrive in time for lunch which you will enjoy after check in, in the afternoon you will go for a game drive exploring the park and enjoying sights of black rhinos, giraffes, leopards and thousands of flamingoes on the shores of Lake Nakuru. After sunset, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru to Amboseli National Park 

Enjoy an early breakfast at the lodge, check and depart for Amboseli National Park – Land of Giants, it is a drive of about 6 hours to get there. You will carry packed which you will enjoy along the way, when you arrive in the park you will be welcomed by the scenic backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro with its snow-capped summit.

Have an afternoon game drive for sights of large herds of elephants, giraffes, lions, warthogs, elands, wildebeests, hippos, antelopes among others. Later proceed to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Explore Amboseli National Park 

Enjoy breakfast and head to the plains of Amboseli for a full day game drive, you will have an early morning and late afternoon game drive giving you an opportunity for great wildlife photography against the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro.

On clear days, you will enjoy breath taking views of the snowcapped summit. Some of the animals to lookout for include giraffes, elephants, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, lions among others. 

Day 6: Amboseli to Tsavo West National Park 

After breakfast, you will checkout of your lodge and with en-route game drive, depart for Tsavo West National Park an amazing Kenya wildlife destination with abundant wildlife and spectacular landscape. 

Arrive in time for lunch after check in at the lodge, in the afternoon you will go a game drive exploring the park and enjoy seeing many animals including gazelles, kobs, zebras, wildebeests, lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes among others. return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Tsavo West to Tsavo East National Park 

Enjoy breakfast and head to the park for a morning game drive visiting the Mzima Springs which are a series of four natural springs and a popular spot for resident hippos and Nile Crocodiles. 

Proceed to Tsavo East National Park with spotting of wildlife and scenery viewing en-route, head to the lodge for lunch after check in. In the afternoon you will enjoy game drive till evenings, later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Tsavo East to Mombasa 

Enjoy early morning game drive in the plains of Tsavo East and see more animals, depart for drive to Mombasa town where you will have lunch, then proceed to the South Coast beach resort where you will spend the next three days.

Day 9 – 10: Leisure at the Beach 

You will spend two full days at your own pleasure and as you like, you can decide to simply relax at the enjoy the beach or enjoy a number of water sports and other activities offered by your beach resort or lodge.

You can also visit the nearby attractions in Mombasa such as Fort Jesus, Mombasa Marine National Park, Haller Park among others.

Day 11: Mombasa to Nairobi

This is the last day of the safari, after breakfast at the resort, you will be picked up by your guide and transfer you to the Moi International Airport for your domestic flight to Wilson Airport, you will then connect to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your international flight back home marking the end of the safari.
