Day 1: Arrival at Goma and Bukavu

Day 2: Chimpanzees at the Lwiro Rehabilitation Center

Begin your day with breakfast at the Orchid Safari Lodge in Bukavu. Following this, you will head to the Lwiro Rehabilitation Center, located approximately 40 kilometers outside of Bukavu.

Bukavu, perched on five peninsulas and surrounded by luxuriant mountainous terrain close to 2,000 meters above sea level, offers visitors breathtaking panoramic views and a stunning contrast with the serene countryside. Spend your day exploring this unique sanctuary and learning about the vital work being done to protect and rehabilitate chimpanzees.

Day 3: Gorillas – Kahuzi Biega National Park

Start your day with an early breakfast before heading to Kahuzi-Biega National Park for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to encounter gorillas in their natural habitat. This enriching and memorable experience allows you to observe these majestic creatures up close.

After completing your gorilla trek, return to the Orchid Safari Lodge for dinner and your overnight stay. If time permits, you can also visit a local community center or enjoy a village walk to further immerse yourself in the culture and daily life of the area.

Day 4: Bukavu – Goma – Kinshasa

Start your day with an early breakfast before checking out of your hotel. You’ll embark on a scenic return trip across Lake Kivu back to Goma. Upon arrival, you’ll board a flight to Kinshasa.

Once in Kinshasa, an airport shuttle service will take you to the luxurious Fleuve Congo Hotel, where you will check in. Enjoy a relaxing evening, arriving in time for dinner and an overnight stay in the heart of the city.

Day 5: Visiting the Bonobos in Kinshasa

Begin your day with an early morning trip to the outskirts of Kinshasa to encounter the bonobo, a remarkable ape that shares 98.2% of its DNA with humans and is found exclusively in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Afterward, visit the serene Mavallée Lake, where you can engage in various activities on its calm waters. Later in the day, return to your hotel for some leisure time before enjoying a full à-la-carte dinner at the resort’s restaurant.

Day 6: Kinshasa City Tour

After breakfast, set out to explore the vibrant and historic city of Kinshasa. This fascinating tour will immerse you in the rich history and culture of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Visit iconic landmarks such as the June 30th Square, the Central Railway Station, and the National Museum, along with other notable sites.

Following the day’s explorations, return to your hotel to unwind. Enjoy a delightful evening meal before settling in for your overnight stay.

Day 7: End of Your Adventure in Kinshasa

After breakfast, check out of the hotel and enjoy a leisurely lunch. Later, proceed to the airport for your departure flight, marking the conclusion of your incredible journey. You have the option to return to Goma or fly directly back home from Kinshasa.
