Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Kahuzi

You will be transferred from Kigali to Bukavu. Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a Golden Rwanda Safari Experiences guide. From there, you will journey to Bukavu in the Democratic Republic of Congo. As you travel, enjoy the scenic beauty of Rwanda’s rolling hills, passing through various districts before reaching the Congo-Rwanda border at Bukavu. Upon finalizing border arrangements, you will cross into Congo. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at Orchids.

Day 2: Jane Goodall Lwiro Chimps Sanctuary

After a delicious early morning breakfast, you will embark on a scenic drive in a safari jeep to visit the Jane Goodall Lwiro Chimps Sanctuary at Kahuzi-Biega. Upon arrival, you will receive a detailed briefing about the sanctuary’s work and conservation efforts. Following your visit, you will return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: First Gorilla Trekking

During your first gorilla trekking activity, you will have the unique opportunity to spend 1 hour observing the Eastern Lowland Gorillas as they roam freely and interact with their young. This intimate wildlife experience allows for both observation and photography in their natural habitat. After the trek, you will return to the park headquarters, where your driver will be waiting to transfer you back to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Second Gorilla Trekking in Kahuzi Biega National Park

In your second gorilla trekking activity, you will once again have the privilege of spending 1 hour observing the Eastern Lowland Gorillas in their natural habitat. Watch as they interact and play with their young ones, capturing memorable moments through observation and photography. After this enriching experience, you will return to the park headquarters, where your driver will be ready to take you back to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
