Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Bukavu
Upon arrival at Kigali airport, you will be welcomed by the guide from Golden Rwanda Safari Experiences and transferred to Bukavu in Congo. During the journey, enjoy the scenic views of Rwanda’s rolling hills as you pass through various districts until you reach the Congo-Rwanda border at Bukavu.
Finalize border arrangements and cross into Congo. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Orchids Safari Club.
Day 2: First Eastern Lowland Gorilla Trekking
After an early morning breakfast, board the safari jeep for a two-hour drive to Kahuzi-Biega National Park, the starting point for your primate excursion. Upon arrival, you will receive a briefing on the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking.
Set off into the forest to track the majestic lowland gorillas in Kahuzi-Biega National Park for an unforgettable experience. After the trek, return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Second Lowland Gorilla Trekking
On your second day of gorilla trekking, you will have the opportunity to spend one hour observing and photographing the Eastern lowland gorillas. Watch these magnificent creatures interact, play, and care for their young in their natural habitat.
After this incredible experience, return to the park headquarters, where your driver will be waiting. You will then be driven back to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Bukavu back to Kigali
On this day, you will wake up very early in the morning and have a cup of tea. Then you will jump on to your safari jeep for the drive back to Kigali if time allows making stopovers to some genocide memorials in Rwanda and later be dropped at Kigali back home.
