Day 1: Boat Trip to Bukavu

You will be picked up by our guide from your hotel in Gisenyi at 9:00 AM. A warm meet and greet will be provided by our guide. We will then head to Cyangugu, where a drop-off at the border of Goma and Gisenyi will take place. Enjoy a 3-hour boat trip on Lake Kivu to Bukavu.

Lake Kivu is one of the African Great Lakes, situated on the border between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda. It lies within the Albertine Rift, the western branch of the East African Rift. Lake Kivu flows into the Ruzizi River.

Upon arrival in Bukavu, you will check into your hotel. After some rest, dinner will be served, followed by a briefing from your guide regarding the next day’s experience.

Day 2: Trek Gorillas

You will wake up at 5:30 AM, with breakfast served at 6:00 AM. At 6:30 AM, we will depart for the National Park gate, approximately a 1-hour drive away. The typical trek lasts 3-4 hours, depending on the location of the gorillas.

After the trek, we will return to the hotel. Enjoy a relaxing evening with a BBQ dinner, followed by some well-deserved rest.
