Overview of the suggested South Africa safari lodges and activities: This 7-night safari showcases South Africa’s top highlights, focusing on Cape Town and the Sabi Sands. The Sabi Sands, located on the border of Kruger National Park, is home to some of the best Big Five game viewing in South Africa.

This classic safari combines two fantastic properties: Four Rosmead and Lion Sands River Lodge. Lion Sands shares an unfenced border with Kruger National Park and offers phenomenal game viewing year-round. Four Rosmead is the perfect base to explore Cape Town, a vibrant city that invites adventure and exploration.

Days 1–4 CAPE TOWN

Your holiday begins upon arrival in Cape Town, where you’ll enjoy three nights at Four Rosmead. This privately owned and run boutique hotel is a favorite here at YZ. Set in a serene suburb, the hotel offers a charming lounge, breakfast room, veranda, and beautiful gardens complete with a swimming pool. Four Rosmead serves as the perfect base from which to explore the city and take in the stunning surrounding scenery. Table Mountain is within easy reach, as the hotel is located on its lower slopes. Many of Cape Town’s top attractions, including Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, the V&A Waterfront, Clifton and Camps Bay, the National Museum & Art Gallery, and the Parliament Buildings, are just a short drive away.

Days 4–8 SABI SANDS

Once you’ve soaked in all that Cape Town has to offer, it’s time to embark on your Big Five safari. You’ll fly on to the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve, where you’ll spend four nights at Lion Sands River Lodge. While the reserve may be small, the lodge is one of the few properties here that grants access to both the private reserve and Kruger National Park itself. It offers exceptional value for money, considering its high service standards, luxurious accommodations, and expert guiding. The lodge features a comfortable open-plan lounge and dining area with stunning views of the Sabie River. You can also relax on the deck, keeping an eye out for wildlife while enjoying a drink or meal. Lion Sands offers a variety of safari activities, including expertly guided game drives, walking safaris, and a romantic night spent in a treehouse, where you can sleep under the stars.
