5 Days Victoria Falls and Hwange Budget Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Victoria Falls

Upon arrival, you will be greeted by a representative from Remarkable Adventures Africa, who will drive you to the Nguni Lodge for check-in and lunch. Afterward, you will embark on a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River, providing the perfect vantage point to observe hippos, crocodiles, and various other wildlife that come to the river’s edge in the early evening. You can enjoy a cocktail and snacks while taking in the breathtaking African sunset. After the cruise, you will be returned to your hotel for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 2: Victoria Falls

After breakfast, you will begin your tour of Victoria Falls, starting on the Zimbabwean side. You will find numerous spectacular vantage points along the width of the falls. As you explore, you will walk through the misty rainforest that surrounds the Main Falls, Horseshoe Falls, Rainbow Falls, the Boiling Pot, Cataract Island, and Livingstone Island. Victoria Falls is Zimbabwe’s most famous attraction, known locally as “The Smoke that Thunders.” These falls are among the largest and most beautiful waterfalls in the world.\

Optional activities for the day include a helicopter flight, a lion walk, and an elephant ride. In the evening, you will return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 3: Victoria Falls – Hwange National Park

Game drives are customized to match the interests of our guests. One of the most popular focuses of these drives is the search for the endangered Black Rhino. While their population on this reserve is healthy, the rhinos have a large territory in which to roam. As a result, finding them is not guaranteed, but there is a good chance of spotting them during your drive.

After your early morning game drive in the Victoria Falls Private Game Reserve, you will be transferred by road to Hwange National Park, which is a three-hour drive south of Victoria Falls. Hwange National Park, the largest national park in Zimbabwe, is another exceptional destination in Africa, brimming with diverse wildlife. You will arrive in the afternoon and enjoy an exciting game drive as you travel to your accommodations. In the evening, you will check in at the Miombo Safari Camp, have dinner, and spend the rest of the night around a roaring campfire before turning in for the night.

Day 4: Hwange National Park

You will wake up early for a morning game drive in the main park. The early morning is the best time to see wildlife, as they are most active during this period. Additionally, you will witness the breathtaking African sunrise on your way back to the lodge for breakfast. After enjoying your breakfast, you will have some time to relax. Following lunch, you will embark on another game drive that will continue until sunset. In the evening, you will return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 5: Hwange National Park – Victoria Falls Airport

After an early breakfast, you will check out and have the option to visit the Painted Dog Conservation Center. You can either visit the center and then be driven to Victoria Falls Airport for your flight home, or you can go directly to the airport. This marks the end of your safari.
