Chimpanzee tracking at Kyambura gorge Uganda.
Kyambura Gorge is situated in the Eastern corner of Queen Elizabeth National Park covered in deep lush tropical vegetation. It is home to a wide and large concentration of animal and bird species and specifically the Chimpanzees. The name Kyambura was derived from a tale where one time the river flooded and carried away the local people together with their property. However when it ceased raining, the survivors tried to follow the path of the river when the water had reduced with the hope of finding them but all in vain upon their return, they lamented in the native language “Kyambura” meaning “I couldn’t find it”. Chimpanzees are the main attraction in this gorge and the main focus for many that come to this area, the chimpanzees found at Kyambura Gorge are readily habituated and available for the ardent nature lovers to track them in their natural habitat.
