The long-awaited day of the activity starts with an early breakfast (energize for the day’s activity), thereafter you head out for the briefing session at “Ntebeko”, the park headquarters. While here, you undergo an orientation on the different rules and regulations of gorilla tracking. The mountain gorillas in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park are easily located and this is because they play and feed from within a limited forested area. You are given 1 hour to watch the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat, learn about their distinctive characteristics and what they feed on. You are allowed to take photos of the gentle giants but without a flash because it may irritate or scare them off.
