Murchison Falls: The World's Most Powerful Waterfall

  Murchison Falls, often described as the world’s most powerful waterfall, is located in northwestern Uganda within the famous Murchison Falls National Park. The park spans several districts including Masinidi, Kiryandongo, Nwoya, and Buliisa, making it one of the most geographically diverse conservation areas in the country. The main access routes into the park are through Para sub county in Nwoya district (Pakuba and Tangi gates) and through Masindi district (Kichumbanyobo gate). These entry points gradually lead travelers from urban settlement into open country side , the finally into vast wilderness landscapes where nature takes over completely. The waterfall itself is formed along the Victoria and cuts through the park before forcing its way through a narrow gorge at Murchison Falls, also locally known as Kabalega Falls in historical context.
