Made up of 9 members, Bushaho gorilla family group is led by Bahati silverback. This gorilla family group’s found in the Nkuringo sector of Bwindi impenetrable forest national park.
In 2012, a few member of the Nkuringo gorilla family group disappeared from the group. After much efforts were injected into searching them, it was established that they had joined the Bushaho gorilla family group. Among the members that left Nkuringo gorilla group is Bahati who was a silverback here and when he moved to Bushaho gorilla group group, he became the dominant one.

The monitoring team of trekkers’ observed the conduct of the members of the parallel group. This group was later habituated and given the name Bushaho gorilla family. Bushaho area is a place where the group forages most. Bushaho gorilla family group has 11 members composed of 1 Silverback, 1 black-back, 4 adult females plus 2 semi adult females and 3 infants.
The dynamics of gorilla families in the thick and impenetrable jungles of Bwindi impenetrable forest national park never tend to cease with time. They constantly happen as seen with the birth of several mountain gorillas, rivalries that lead to family members breaking off and other factors.
