Overview of Safari Lodges and Activities: This safari offers a whirlwind tour of Africa’s most iconic destinations, with a focus on incredible value and immersive game experiences. You’ll experience the very best of African wildlife without sacrificing quality, all at a fraction of the cost of similar trips. Despite its affordability, this safari offers first-class medical support and unmatched 24/7 ground services.

Andrew van den Broeck, a former head guide trainer at &Beyond, will lead the trip. However, each destination will introduce a new expert guide, ensuring personalized experiences while providing unparalleled local knowledge. This dynamic approach creates a seamless safari where Andrew focuses on the guiding experience, while local experts dive deep into the regions they know best.

This journey is the ultimate highlights tour of Africa. While other safaris might encourage clients to visit multiple regions over several trips, this one delivers all the major ‘bucket list’ experiences in one, including the Serengeti and Great Migration, mountain gorillas, the Zambezi River, Victoria Falls, the Okavango Delta, and Cape Town.

Who is this trip for? This safari is perfect for travelers seeking authenticity in their safari journey. It’s ideal for adventurous spirits eager to explore the world and those looking for exceptional value without compromising on quality. Due to the fast-paced nature and the distances involved, it’s recommended for younger travelers. Teenagers will enjoy the experience, but it’s not suited for younger children.

The cost of the guide and destination experts is shared among participants, offering even more value for larger groups. Thanks to our partnership with Andrew at Yellow Zebra, his services are included at no extra charge for this safari.

Days 1-4 THE SERENGETI

Upon arrival in Africa, you’ll meet Andrew and fly into the northern Serengeti, right into the heart of the Great Migration’s famous river crossings. The northern Serengeti is teeming with wildlife, particularly rich pride heartlands, making it one of the most action-packed areas. Wayo Serengeti Green Camp is a standout in the mobile camp scene. Its prime, quieter locations offer a unique opportunity for early morning walking safaris or a direct journey to the river for the spectacular crossings. This mobile camp is expertly designed and offers exceptional value that has made waves across the park.

For a truly immersive experience, you can try fly camping in “star tents” — one of Africa’s most authentic adventures. Jean du Plessis, founder of Wayo Africa and one of the Serengeti’s top guides, will lead your journey through the park. Today, Jean also serves as the Head of Tanzania at Wilderness Safaris. His legendary knowledge and walking expertise, combined with his commitment to training local villagers to become expert guides, make him the ideal leader for this experience.

Days 5-7 BWINDI

From the Serengeti, you’ll fly to Uganda to focus on the mountain gorillas of Bwindi. While it’s well-known that direct eye contact with a gorilla is not recommended, being surrounded by a family group remains one of the most thrilling experiences on earth. At Buhoma Lodge, nestled in the heart of Bwindi, your main adventure will be the morning treks. The region around Buhoma is considered by many guides to be the prime habitat for gorilla trekking in Africa.

You’ll embark on two treks — each offering a unique experience — and in the afternoons, we’ll customize your activities. Bwindi is also home to over 350 bird species and more than 200 types of butterflies. Andrew will guide you through the jungle, and we’ll also visit Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka’s Research Clinic, where you’ll have the opportunity to meet Gladys herself.

Days 8-11 LOWER ZAMBEZI NATIONAL PARK

From Uganda, you’ll take your longest flight to Lusaka, Zambia, and then head to Lower Zambezi National Park. The Zambezi Valley is the personal favorite of our founder Julian — the place he would “go on safari to tomorrow.” And your base here? Chula Island Lodge, an exceptional wilderness retreat on its own private island. This intimate, adventurous camp offers a unique and immersive big-game safari experience, set in the heart of the Zambezi River.

The rooms at Chula are distinct — with netted walls offering an unobstructed 270-degree view of the bush at all times, day and night — capturing the essence of wild Africa. Kyle Branch, a renowned private guide and owner, will lead you on your safari. Known for his expertise, Kyle brings a deep knowledge of the area, making this camp a true showcase of safari diversity. With activities ranging from boating and canoeing to fishing, walking safaris, and game drives, this is a special place that offers the full safari experience.

Days 12-13 VICTORIA FALLS

From the stunning Lower Zambezi, you’ll fly to Victoria Falls, where you’ll spend two nights at the iconic Victoria Falls Hotel. Keith Vincent, CEO of Wilderness Safaris, will personally welcome you to Zimbabwe and, over dinner, introduce you to his southern African playground. The Victoria Falls Hotel, the oldest and most luxurious on the Zimbabwean side of the falls, offers the perfect setting to pause, reflect, and experience the mighty power of the waterfall. After exploring some of Africa’s finest game locations, this is a moment to soak in the beauty of one of the world’s greatest natural wonders.
Helicopter, The Victoria Falls Hotel, Victoria falls, Zimbabwe
To enhance your experience, we’ve arranged a helicopter flight to take in the full grandeur of Victoria Falls from above. While in the area, you’ll be joined by Sue Goatley, Wilderness’s Head of Impact for the Zambezi region and leader of the exceptional Children in the Wilderness program. Learning about the region’s challenges and CITW’s work will add another layer of depth to your safari experience.

Days 14-17 OKAVANGO DELTA

From Victoria Falls, you’ll fly into the Okavango Delta to explore one of Botswana’s most pristine and exclusive concessions: Kweene Trails. As the only truly mobile safari camp in Botswana’s high-end private reserves, Kweene breaks the mold of exclusive, high-cost safaris. While many private reserves in Botswana are out of reach for most, Kweene offers a unique opportunity to experience unmatched luxury and exclusivity.

Accessible only by helicopter, Kweene Trails follows the Kweene River system in the western Okavango, a region renowned for its shifting lion dynamics and resident packs of wild dogs. This quintessential Okavango game viewing area is known only to the most seasoned guides, and it’s a place we’re deeply passionate about. Who better to lead you through this extraordinary wildlife haven than Simon Byron, Kweene’s owner and founder? Simon is one of Botswana’s most renowned guides, and Kweene Trails is fast becoming the industry’s hottest topic.

Days 18-21 CAPE TOWN

From Botswana, we’ll fly to Cape Town for the final leg of your journey. On arrival, you’ll be greeted by Howie Owen, one of the most experienced and knowledgeable guides in South Africa’s Western Cape. Over the next four nights, you’ll stay at the boutique Four Rosmead, ideally located in the heart of Cape Town. Here, the possibilities are endless, but the key is to explore the city like a local, with Howie curating every experience to suit your preferences.
