Brief Itinerary – 4 Days Tanzania Safari

• Day 1: Arrival at Mount Kilimanjaro Airport – Transfer to Serengeti National Park
• Day 2: Morning game drive – Transfer to Ngoro Ngoro Conservation Area
• Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater Area (Game Drive)
• Day 4: Depart for Mount Kilimanjaro Airport

Detailed Itinerary – 4 Days Tanzania Safari

Day 1: Arrival at Mount Kilimanjaro Airport

On the first day of your 4 days Tanzania Budget Safari, your Jewel Safaris guide will meet you at Mt. Kilimanjaro Airport and give you a short briefing of the safari. You will then be driven to Serengeti National Park and check into your accommodation for relaxation. You will later be served lunch at your accommodation. After lunch, you will be taken by your Jewel Safaris guide on an afternoon Game Drive in one of the sectors of the park. Serengeti has the most diverse ecosystem of all the National Parks in East Africa, and you will encounter many animals as you roam the plains. Before nightfall, you will be taken back to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast on the second day of your 4 days Tanzania Camping Safari, you will go on a morning Game Drive. These early Game Drives are the most successful in terms of spotting the predators, such as the lions and hyenas. The temperatures are much cooler at this time of day, and the cats in particular are out hunting for food. It is very likely that you will encounter a ‘kill’ at this time of the day, as this is when they are most common.

You will then start your journey to the Ngorongoro Crater, East of Serengeti. Lunch will be either on the way to or at the Crater, depending on the time. After lunch, you will continue with the journey to the Crater; arriving at your accommodation for evening relaxation.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater Area

After early breakfast on the third day of your 4 Days Tanzania Budget Safari, you will go on a Game Drive inside the Ngorongoro Crater itself. The crater is quite unique in addition to having an enormous number of game animals, it is also the home of many Maasai People. Here they set up homesteads to co-exist with the wildlife. It is the only protected area in Tanzania where both wildlife and humans co-exist. Lunch will be a picnic on the Crater floor, where you will encounter many animals roaming about while you have your lunch. After the lunch break, you will continue for an afternoon Game Drive. There is an opportunity to travel on donkeys on a trail that exists at the rim of the Crater, a rather unique perspective on both the crater itself and the wildlife that exists around the edge. Before nightfall, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Depart for Mount Kilimanjaro Airport 

After breakfast on the last day of your 4 days Tanzania safari, you will drive to the Mt. Kilimanjaro Airport for your return flight. The drive will take you across parts of the Serengeti as well as through a number of villages, with an opportunity to visit the Masai artists preparing their handicrafts. Lunch will be en route as you pass through the communities that exist in this area. Your guide will take you to a local Tanzanian restaurant so you can taste the local dishes.
