Nyakagezi gorilla family available for gorilla Trekking

The feel of testing the untold great encounter with the mountain gorillas of the only existing habituated gorilla family of this small but well-endowed national park. Nyakagezi Gorilla Family is the only habituated gorilla group in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park; located at the Rwanda-Uganda-DR. Congo border in South Western Uganda. Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is the smallest park, covering an area of 33.7 km2. This is an extension of the Virunga Mountains which is shared by two other gorilla parks of Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda and Virunga National Park in Democratic Republic of Congo. The group is named after “Nyakagezi” area in the Mgahinga where the group spends much of its time. The area is highly endowed with food which attracts very many gorillas to come. The family group is led silverback Mark. Other members of the family include silverback Mafia, Ndugutse and Bugingo-the former head of the family. Rukundo is the only black-back, Nyiramwiza an adult female, Nshuti the adult female with her two babies Nshuti and Fred. Nkanda and Furaha are juveniles, Mutagamba is an infant. Fred was named from a Mountain Gorilla Veterinary Project (MGVP) doctor called “Fred” who saved him from a wire snare.
