7 Day Journey Through Northern Namibia
Overview
This safari is designed to showcase the incredible wildlife and breathtaking landscapes of northern Namibia, combining three of the country’s most captivating destinations. Your adventure begins at a private game reserve near Etosha National Park, where you’ll enjoy exceptional game viewing—spotting elephants, rhinos, and lions in an exclusive, crowd-free environment. From here, the journey continues to the remote beauty of Kaokoveld, a vast and arid region that offers rare desert wildlife tracking, encounters with local communities, and unforgettable stargazing under the region’s pristine skies.
The final leg of your journey takes you to the Skeleton Coast National Park, where the sound of crashing waves fills the air. Shipwreck Lodge, the park’s only accommodation, offers a unique opportunity to experience one of Africa’s most remote and rugged destinations. The landscape here is a striking blend of sea, sand, and sky, with beaches scattered with whale bones and shipwrecks, while brown hyenas and lions patrol the shores.
This well-balanced itinerary includes a mix of road transfers and flights between camps, maximizing your time in these wild landscapes. Throughout your stay, enjoy comfortable en-suite accommodation with electric lighting, Wi-Fi, and charging points, along with delicious meals. Whether you’re a honeymooner seeking seclusion, a couple on a special adventure, or a multi-generational family looking for an unforgettable journey, this safari promises an extraordinary experience in some of Africa’s most untouched and scenic locations.

Day 1-3: A Private Safari | 2 Nights
Your adventure begins at a private 60,000-acre (24,000 hectares) game reserve, where you’ll check in at Safarihoek Lodge for two nights. Set against the expansive northern Namibia savannah, Etosha Heights Private Reserve offers an exceptional wildlife experience with sightings of elephant, lion, giraffe, and both black and white rhino. The reserve’s exclusive setting allows for morning and afternoon game drives, as well as guided walks and thrilling spot-lit night drives. Photographers will particularly appreciate the camp’s strategically placed hide, overlooking a flood-lit waterhole—perfect for capturing close-up views of wildlife, especially in the late afternoon and evening.
Day 3-5: Mountain Wildernes| 2 Nights
Relax as you embark on a scenic drive west, leaving the savannah behind and heading into Namibia’s Kaokoveld region. Known for being one of the most sparsely populated areas in the country, the Kaokoveld offers a strikingly beautiful landscape of wind-sculpted mountains, cracked river valleys, scattered boulders, and twisted thorn trees. Your home for the next stay is Hoanib Valley Camp, perched above a rare green strip of vegetation that follows a desert river, supporting a rich variety of wildlife. Here, you’ll have the chance to track desert-adapted giraffe, lions, and elephants, either on game drives or on foot with a local Himba guide. Due to its remote location, the camp also offers some of the clearest and most breathtaking night skies you’ll ever experience.
Day 5-7: Explore Skeleton Coast | 2 Nights
Embark on another scenic drive as you make your way to your final destination: an artfully designed suite overlooking the harsh yet mesmerizing Atlantic Ocean along Namibia’s legendary Skeleton Coast. Shipwreck Lodge is nestled in a surreal landscape where the horizon seems to shift between sea, sky, and sand, all bathed in a hazy sun.
Here, you can immerse yourself in the untouched beauty of an untamed wilderness while searching for unique coastal wildlife, like scavenging brown hyenas. For those seeking adventure, activities such as quad-biking and sandboarding await. Back at the lodge, you’ll find comfort in your en suite bathroom, a wood-burning stove to keep you warm, and a suite equipped with Wi-Fi, solar-powered lighting, and a battery-charging station, ensuring a perfect blend of nature and convenience.
