Day 1: Set Out from Windhoek

Upon arriving in Windhoek, Namibia’s charming capital, pick up your rental vehicle and drive to Okonjima Plains Camp for the night. Take some time to relax—whether it’s a refreshing dip in the camp’s swimming pool or unwinding on the wooden veranda. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the Africat project and discover more about the local carnivores.

Day 2-5: Enjoy Etosha National Park

Start your day with breakfast at Okonjima Plains Camp before heading to the Onguma Private Game Reserve, located on the edge of Etosha National Park. After checking into Onguma Bush Camp, begin your adventure in this wildlife-rich region. You won’t need to go far to spot animals—simply relax with a refreshing drink on the lodge’s game-viewing platform, which offers a great view of the frequently visited waterhole.

Over the next two days, enjoy self-drive safaris through Etosha. The park is easy to navigate and offers a perfect mix of classic savannah species, desert-adapted wildlife, and is renowned for its predators, black rhinos, and elephants.

Day 5: Explore Damarland

After breakfast, head towards the rugged Damaraland region, where you’ll spend the next two nights at Doro Nawas Camp. At first glance, the area may seem barren, but its beauty is undeniable, and the wildlife here is surprisingly abundant. Relax by the pool or sip a drink at the bar before taking in the stunning sunset from the rooftop. As night falls, the skies come alive, offering some truly spectacular stargazing.

Day 6: Visit Ancient Rock Art at Twyfelfontein

Embark on a visit to Twyfelfontein, home to the largest collection of prehistoric rock art in Africa, featuring ancient San (Bushman) rock engravings. As you explore the area, enjoy game viewing along dry riverbeds and through dense thickets, where you may spot elusive desert-adapted elephants and other wildlife in this remote but captivating region.

Day 7: Explore the Historic Town of Swakopmund

This morning, head to Namibia’s Atlantic coastline and check in at the Swakopmund Guesthouse, nestled in the charming, German-colonial town of Swakopmund. Known as Namibia’s holiday hub, the town offers a range of thrilling activities, from quad biking on the sand dunes to skydiving and sandboarding. For a more relaxed experience, stroll through the welcoming streets, exploring boutique craft shops, cozy cafes, and coffee spots.

Day 8: Drive to Namib Desert

After breakfast, you might want to squeeze in one final activity in Swakopmund before bidding farewell to the coast. As you drive through the vast Namib Desert, take in the stunning, otherworldly scenery of the Kuiseb Valley. Arrive at Kulala Desert Lodge, where you can unwind with a refreshing swim in the pool or relax on your chalet’s rooftop veranda, watching the sunset over the sweeping desert plains.

Day 9: See Towering Dunes at Sossusvlei

Rise early for a guided excursion to Sossusvlei to witness the iconic red dunes firsthand. Towering up to 300 meters, these dunes are among the tallest in the world, and you’ll have the chance to experience their grandeur by climbing Dune 45. In the afternoon, join your guide for a nature walk through the lodge’s private reserve, exploring the unique desert landscape.

Day 10: End of your Windhoek Tour

Soar over the stunning Namib landscape in a hot-air balloon, taking in breathtaking views before indulging in a champagne breakfast. Conclude your unforgettable Namibian self-drive journey with a drive back to Windhoek, where you’ll return your rental vehicle at the airport before catching your outbound flight.
