7 Days Lake Victoria, Kibale and Bwindi Tour will start in Entebbe where you will visit the Ngamba island and also take part in a sunset boat cruise on Lake Victoria.
During the tour you will also engage in chimpanzee trekking in Kibale national park, visit Queen Elizabeth national park and take part in a gorilla trek in Bwindi national park before returning to Kampala at the end of the tour.
Detailed Itinerary: Lake Victoria, Kibale and Bwindi Tour
Day 1; arrival
Your safari will begin with pick up on arrival at Entebbe international airport and your guide will be waiting to welcome you for your safari to Uganda and drive you to your hotel in Entebbe for check in.
Day 2; visit Ngamba island and sunset boat cruise
You will have breakfast at the hotel in Entebbe as you prepare for the half day tour at Ngamba island. You will get to Ngamba island by boat on Lake Victoria and when you get to the island, you will be welcomed and proceed to the visitors’ center for a briefing about the island and the chimpanzees.
During your visit to Ngamba, you will watch the chimpanzees and closely observe their behavior as they feed and groom each other and also encounter various bird species. After the tour, you will take a boat back to the docking area and your guide will drive you to the hotel for lunch.
In the evening, you will enjoy a sunset boat ride on Lake Victoria to where the equator crosses on Lake Victoria. After the boat cruise, you will return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3; drive to Kibale national park
After having breakfast at the hotel, you will check out and start your journey to Kibale national park for an experience of chimpanzee trekking. You will drive to the western part of Uganda and along the way enjoy views of the tea plantations, scenic hills and other attractions arriving in time for lunch at the lodge.
You will also engage in an optional tour of Fort portal in the evening to experience the way of life of the batooro and also tour the town before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4; chimpanzee trekking and drive to Queen Elizabeth national park
You will have breakfast at the lodge and you will proceed to the park headquarters at Kanyanchu. At Kanyanchu, you will be briefed by the park official about chimpanzee trekking and also be divided into groups of 8 people before moving into the Kibale forest to search for the chimpanzees and other primates such as black and white colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, baboons and also encounter a variety of bird and butterfly species as you move in the forest. You will also get to know about the different tree species found in the forest and when you find the chimpanzees, you will spend 1 hour with them and take photos , record videos with the chimpanzees and after this time with the chimpanzees, you will return to the park headquarters for your certificates.
After the chimpanzee trekking in Kibale national park, you will be driven to Queen Elizabeth national park where you will check in at the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5; game drive in Queen Elizabeth park and transfer to Bwindi national park
After having breakfast early and checking out of the lodge, you will engage in a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth national park in search of wildlife species like lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, impalas, waterbucks among others.
You will be driven to Bwindi national park after the short game drive for your dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6; gorilla trekking and Batwa cultural tour
You will have an early breakfast at the lodge and your guide will drive you to the park headquarters for briefing on gorilla trekking in Bwindi national park. After briefing, you will be divided into groups of 8 and allocated rangers before trekking into the Bwindi impenetrable forest to search for the gorillas. You will follow different trails in the forest and when you find the gorillas, you will spend 1 hour with them.
After gorilla trekking in Bwindi, you will return to the park headquarters to receive your certificates. You will visit the batwa community on this day and take part in a cultural interaction with the batwa, get to know more about their culture, watch and participate in traditional dances and later your guide will drive you to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7; drive to Kampala
After having breakfast at the lodge in Bwindi national park, you will return to Kampala with a stop by the equator for photos and also have your lunch enroute and your guide will drop you off in Kampala or Entebbe which will bring the tour to an end.
