Safari Overview: This safari offers the ultimate highlights tour, combining incredible game experiences with exclusive properties. It provides exceptional value, without compromising on the quality of game viewing. Comparable to the most luxurious safaris we offer, it costs only a fraction of similar trips. In addition, the safari benefits from top-tier medical and ground support, available 24/7.
Throughout the trip, Andrew van den Broeck ensures a personal, consistent experience. At each destination, an expert guide joins the group, offering in-depth knowledge of the local environment. This combination makes for a seamless, expert-led adventure across Africa.
This whirlwind tour starts in East Africa, traveling through some of the continent’s top ‘bucket list’ destinations: the Serengeti, mountain gorillas, the Zambezi River, Victoria Falls, the Okavango Delta, and Cape Town.
Who Is This Trip For? This safari is ideal for adventurous travelers who seek authenticity and value without compromising on experience. It’s perfect for younger clients or families with teenage children, though not suitable for younger kids due to the fast-paced travel.
Larger groups can also share the cost of expert guides, adding further value. Thanks to Andrew’s affiliation with Yellow Zebra, his expertise is included at no extra cost.
Days 1-4 THE SERENGETI
Upon arrival in Africa, you’ll meet Andrew and fly straight into the northern Serengeti, right into the heart of the Great Migration and the famous river crossings. The northern Serengeti is known for its rich pride heartlands and exciting action.
Here, you’ll stay at Wayo Serengeti Green Camp, a new addition to the mobile camp scene, offering prime locations away from the crowds. This camp provides the perfect base for early morning walking safaris or heading straight to the river for the crossings.
Wayo Serengeti Green Camp is beautifully designed, and its exceptional value has made waves throughout the park. For an even more immersive experience, you can opt for fly camping in “star tents,” offering one of the most authentic experiences in Africa. Jean du Plessis, the founder of Wayo Africa and one of the Serengeti’s top guides, will lead your adventures in the park.
As the Head of Tanzania for Wilderness Safaris, Jean’s expertise in guiding and walking is renowned, and he has a strong track record of hiring and training local villagers to become expert guides.
Days 5-7 BWINDI
From the Serengeti, you’ll fly to Uganda for your next adventure: the mountain gorillas of Bwindi. While getting too close to a gorilla is never advised, being surrounded by a family group is one of the most exhilarating wildlife experiences on the planet.
You’ll stay at Buhoma Lodge, nestled in the heart of Bwindi, where the highlight of your visit will be morning treks. The area around Buhoma is considered by many guides to be the best habitat for gorilla trekking in Africa. You’ll embark on two treks—each a unique experience—and enjoy tailored afternoons exploring further.
Bwindi itself is a haven for wildlife, with over 350 bird species and more than 200 types of butterflies. Andrew will lead you on jungle hikes to discover this rich ecosystem, and you’ll also have the opportunity to visit the Research Clinic of Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka, where you’ll meet the renowned conservationist herself.
Days 8-11 LOWER ZAMBEZI NATIONAL PARK
From Uganda, you’ll take your longest flight as you head to Lusaka, Zambia, before continuing on to Lower Zambezi National Park. The Zambezi Valley is a personal favorite of our founder, Julian—it’s the place he’d “go on safari to tomorrow.”
And the camp? Chula Island Lodge, offering an unforgettable wilderness experience on its own private island. This is where you’ll get back to the heart of big game wildlife viewing, surrounded by nature on the Zambezi River.
The rooms at Chula are unique, with net walls on all sides, providing an unobstructed 270-degree view of the bush, day and night—true adventure at its finest! Your guide will be Kyle Branch, a renowned private guide and camp owner, considered one of the best in the business.
Chula is Kyle’s camp, and it truly showcases the diversity of safari experiences. Boating, canoeing, fishing, walking safaris, and game drives are all on offer. It’s a very special place.
Days 12-13 VICTORIA FALLS
From the breathtaking Lower Zambezi, you’ll fly to Victoria Falls, where you’ll spend two nights at the iconic Victoria Falls Hotel. The Victoria Falls Hotel is the oldest and most prestigious hotel on the Zimbabwean side of the falls. After exploring some of Africa’s top game areas, this stop offers a moment to pause, reflect, and witness the awe-inspiring power of the falls.
To fully appreciate the scale, we’ve arranged a helicopter flight to view Victoria Falls from above.
Days 14-17 OKAVANGO DELTA
From Victoria Falls, you’ll fly into the Okavango Delta to experience one of Botswana’s most exclusive and pristine concessions at Kweene Trails. As the only truly mobile safari camp in Botswana’s high-end private reserves, Kweene offers a unique level of exclusivity previously out of reach for many. Accessible only by helicopter, Kweene Trails follows the Kweene River in the western Okavango, a region known for its shifting lion dynamics and resident wild dog packs. This quintessential Okavango game viewing area is a hidden gem, known only to the best guides.
Who better to navigate this incredible environment than Simon Byron, Kweene’s owner and founder? As one of Botswana’s most renowned guides, Simon brings unmatched expertise to this remarkable safari experience, making Kweene Trails the talk of the industry.
Days 18-21 CAPE TOWN
From Botswana, we’ll fly to Cape Town for the final days of your tour, where private guide Howie Owen will greet you. One of the most experienced and knowledgeable guides in South Africa’s western cape, Howie will help you explore Cape Town like a local. You’ll stay at the boutique hotel Four Rosmead, right in the heart of the city.
Cape Town offers endless options to suit every taste. Whether you’re interested in remote wineries, Michelin-starred meals, or private barbecues on the beach, Howie will customize your time to ensure you experience the city at its best.
