Paje Beach is a paradise boasting a serene and tranquil environment located on the eastern coast of Zanzibar Island, because of the low tide the beach is suitable for swimming which makes it popular for swimmers and is also good for kite surfing. 

Paje Beach has an astounding difference between low tide and high tide, at low tide it is like beautiful beach desert and once the water slowly rushes in as high tide approaches, the colors are amplified leaving in a sense of we at how beautiful nature can be. 

Paje Beach, Zanzibar 

Paje Beach “East Coast” is arguably the best coast in Zanzibar with much more beautiful beaches on the east side, the wind blows from east to west offering a cool breeze at most times of the day.

Beaches on Paje Island stretches for many kilometers of pure white sands and at a low tide, you can see the water receding for hundreds of meters and you walk to the furthest stretches of the beach.

When is high season in Paje

At night most especially in high season, the restaurant turns into a bit of a party.

How to get to Paje? 

Paje Beach is located on the Southeast side of Zanzibar, from Stone Town the capital of the island. It is a roughly one hour by car from either the airport or ferry terminal. Private taxis are negotiable, also there are public taxis but be sure to bargain hard. 

If you are a budget traveler, you can take a dala dala from the main bus station in the Stone Town, local mini buses are available.
