3 Days Gorilla Flying Safari

Overview

This 3-day gorilla flying safari is a short Uganda primate safari offering you a visit to the world’s most popular and best gorilla trekking destination, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to the world’s largest population of mountain gorillas and also to the largest number of habituated mountain gorilla groups open for tourism. On this safari, you are to visit these habituated gorilla families.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is situated in the far south-western region of Uganda and from Kampala, where most Bwindi safaris start, it is a drive of approximately 10 hours, which is a long day. To save you from a long drive, this safari is typically a flying safari, so you will fly from Entebbe International Airport or Kajjansi Airstrip to Kihihi Airstrip, which serves the Buhoma Sector of Bwindi.

In groups of 8 people, you will be assigned a gorilla family to trek and head to the starting point for gorilla trekking and head into the forests of Bwindi looking for mountain gorillas. You are advised to stay approximately 8 feet distance from the gorillas as you watch them go on with their normal life in the forests of Bwindi, babies playing on three branches among others. You can take pictures and videos as long as your flash light is off as it irritates the gorillas.
