Embark on an unforgettable 14-day Tanzania and Zanzibar safari, one of our most comprehensive Tanzania safari packages. This extended itinerary allows ample time to explore Tanzania’s incredible wilderness and unwind on the idyllic beaches of Zanzibar. Your adventure includes visits to Tarangire National Park, the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater (often called the “Garden of Eden”), and the Serengeti National Park, one of the world’s oldest ecosystems, teeming with diverse wildlife.
This 14-day safari features extensive game drives within the Tanzanian national parks, as well as a unique guided walking safari in Tarangire National Park. After immersing yourself in Tanzania’s stunning landscapes and wildlife, you’ll journey to the picturesque beaches of Zanzibar for a few days of perfect relaxation.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
Upon arrival at the airport, you will be greeted by your guide and welcomed to your safari adventure. After a brief introduction and safari overview, you will be transferred to your hotel in Arusha for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Drive to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast at your hotel, you will begin your drive to Tarangire National Park, located in northern Tanzania. This park is renowned for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees.
Upon arrival, you will check in to your lodge in Tarangire National Park, followed by lunch and an afternoon game drive. During the drive, you’ll search for a variety of wildlife, including gazelles, impalas, zebras, waterbucks, and the park’s diverse birdlife. Enjoy a breathtaking sunset in the wilderness before returning to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Walking Safari in Tarangire National Park
After a delicious breakfast at the lodge, you’ll embark on a guided walking safari in Tarangire National Park. This immersive experience offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature and observe wildlife up close, accompanied by a ranger and your tour guide. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the heart of the park. Later, you’ll have another game drive before returning to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Drive to Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast at your lodge, you’ll be transferred to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. An optional stop at Olduvai Gorge is available. Following lunch, you’ll descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, visiting Lake Magadi, located at its center. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to spot a variety of wildlife, including elephants, rhinos, buffalo, lions, leopards, cheetahs, wildebeest, zebras, and flamingos along the lake’s shores. Enjoy the stunning scenery of Ngorongoro before your guide drives you to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Drive to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast at your lodge, your guide will drive you to Serengeti National Park, also located in northern Tanzania. You will have the opportunity to search for the “Big Five” (elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos, and buffalo) during your safari in the park.
After checking in to your lodge in the national park, you will have lunch. You will also enjoy an evening game drive to observe wildlife such as zebras, lions, buffalo, elephants, giraffes, elands, impalas, and various antelope species. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the lodge.
Days 6 & 7: Full Days in Serengeti National Park
Begin each day with breakfast at your lodge in Serengeti National Park, preparing for a morning game drive. You’ll have the opportunity to observe a variety of wildlife species, often most active during the cooler morning hours, grazing across the park’s landscapes.
After the morning game drive, you’ll have lunch and later embark on another game drive, searching for wildlife grazing on the open savannah of the Serengeti. Keep an eye out for elephants, giraffes, cheetahs, impalas, gazelles, buffalo, elands, various antelope species, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, and more. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the same lodge.
Day 8: Drive to Arusha
After breakfast at your lodge, you will begin the approximately 7-hour drive from Serengeti National Park back to Arusha. You will have dinner and spend the night at the hotel.

Day 9: Visit Waterfalls and Coffee Tour
After breakfast at your hotel, you’ll embark on an excursion to waterfalls located about 3 hours from Arusha town. This day also includes an engaging coffee tour, where you’ll visit a plantation and learn about the coffee-making process from bean to cup.
You will also have the opportunity to participate in making your own coffee. After the coffee tour, your guide will drive you back to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 10: Flight to Zanzibar
After breakfast at your hotel in Arusha, your guide will transfer you to Arusha Airport for your flight to Zanzibar Island. Upon arrival in Zanzibar, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel for check-in. The remainder of the day is yours to relax on the beach. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Day 11: Stone Town, Prison Island, and Spice Tour
You will take a private boat from Stone Town to Changuu Island (Prison Island), where you can observe giant tortoises and enjoy snorkeling during your island tour. A boat will then take you back from Changuu Island to Stone Town. This day also includes a spice tour, where you will explore plantations and discover various exotic spices, learning about their uses, such as cloves, cinnamon, and nutmeg. After the spice tour, you will return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 12: Zanzibar Beach Experience
Enjoy a relaxing day on the white-sand beaches of Zanzibar Island, taking in the beautiful views of the Indian Ocean. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the same hotel.
Day 13: Safari Blue Experience
Experience one of the best boat tours on the island, a truly amazing adventure sailing in traditional Dhow boats. Enjoy a scenic boat ride, a delicious buffet with drinks, fresh tropical fruits and snacks, snorkeling, and a visit to Menai Bay. After this experience, you will be driven back to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 14: Departure
Enjoy a final breakfast at your hotel in Zanzibar before your transfer to the airport for your departure, marking the end of your safari adventure.
