Fly to the Gorillas – Overview

4 Days fly-in package takes you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest with less drive time. Have a scenic domestic return flight to the Gorilla Kingdom and get an insight into the Batwa culture.

Brief Itinerary

• Day 1:  Arrival Entebbe
• Day 2: Scenic flight to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
• Day 3: Gorilla Tracking
• Day 4: Fly Bwindi – Entebbe/Departure

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Entebbe/Uganda. Meet Jewel Safaris airport staff right on tarmac, assist through customs, hand over to your private driver and transfer to the hotel. You will have briefing on your safari today or tonight depending on the arrival time.  Meals and overnight accommodation at hotel No.5 or similar on bed and breakfast basis.

Day 2: Fly Entebbe >  Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Following early morning breakfast, meet your driver and transfer to the airport. Proceed to the domestic check-in point and fly to Bwindi (Flights depart Entebbe at 7:00 Am and 10:15 Am, note that flight schedule is subject change at short or no notice). Meet Jewel Safaris guide at the airstrip and transfer to the lodge.

In the afternoon, have a cultural experience with the Batwa people. The pygmies also called “Batwa” are hunter gatherers who stayed in Bwindi Forest for long until park authorities forced them out. You will get an insight into their culture, test your hunting skills, hear ancient stories. Return to the lodge

Meals and Overnight accommodation at Four Gorillas Lodge or Similar

Day 3: Gorilla Tracking. Takes 3 – 7 hrs. Following morning breakfast, transfer to park headquarters and enter the famous Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Yes, penetrate the impenetrable forest in search for Gorillas. Get your walking stick and drinking and look for the gentle giants. The walk is quite challenging but an encounter with a happy gorilla family is an unforgettable  experience. Later, follow your footsteps back to the lodge.

You will have a guided walk to the local community and visit, schools, hospitals and craft shops. Make last minute shopping and bargain like a local.  Meals and overnight accommodation at Four Gorillas Lodge or Similar.

Day 4: Fly Bwindi –  Entebbe/Departure. After morning breakfast, transfer to the airstrip arriving in time for your domestic  flight departing Bwindi at  9:45 Am or 11:45 Am. (flight takes 1 hour, schedule is subject to change)If you fly to your next destination please keep in mind that you book an onward flight at 2 pm.

If you proceed with a overland safari we can pick you up and transfer you to your hotel. ( at extra cost)
