3 Days Ssese Island Uganda Safari Overview

This tour takes you to the amazing Ssese Islands. Ssese Island is located in the North-western part of Lake Victoria and is approximately 51 kilometers from the mainland to the waters of Lake Victoria.

Ssese Islands has white sand and beach for relaxation. Some of the activities you can do here include spot fishing, quad biking, golfing, forest nature walks, boat ride, and bird watching. Ssese Island is also a honeymoon destination and tour place for tourists who love being around the lake shores.

• Day 1: Pickup from your hotel/airport pickup/Transfer to Ssese islands  
• Day 2: Ssese Island
• Day 3: End of safari

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Entebbe>Ssese Island. Have breakfast and later at 10:00 am, depart to the ferry docking point at Nakiwogo to wait for your transfer to Ssese Island. The ferry mostly departs at around 1:00 pm and the ride takes about 3 hours. Reach in the early evening and have more time to relax and restore energy for the next day’s activities. You will have dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Explore the Ssese Island. Have breakfast and head out for different leisure activities like visiting the oil palm gardens, nature walks, hiking to the John Speke landing spot, and also take part in fishing which takes about 2 hours. During this experience, you get to enjoy African typical fishing with local fishermen. Drive back to the hotel for lunch and head out for a community visit alongside bird watching with chances of seeing species like African Gray Parrots, White-spotted Fluff tail, and Grey-cheeked Hornbill

If time allows, you can choose to take a cruise on the lake for a sundowner before retiring back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Ssese>Entebbe. You will take an early cup of tea, check out from the lodge. You can choose to have your breakfast packed as you head to the ferry to Entebbe. Upon arrival in Entebbe, optional drop off at your hotel or the airport for your flight.
