3 Days Mgahinga Gorilla trekking Safari Overview
Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is located in southwestern Uganda, in Kisoro district and the park is the smallest national park in Uganda. Mountain gorillas are the main tourist attraction in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. The park covers an area of 36 square kilometers. Upon entry, you are welcomed by an atmosphere filled with natural beauty. The park is one of the few places in the world where the endangered mountain gorillas live. The park has a thick forest with a wide variety of tree species and gorillas are known to be vegetarians.
The park has more than 79 bird species and over 39 mammals. Not only viewing mountain gorillas but also animals like spotted hyenas, golden monkeys, leopards, elephants, buffalos, and zebras to list a few.

- Day 1: Pickup from your hotel/airport pickup/transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Kampala>Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.
You will have breakfast and set off to western Uganda with your first stopover at Mpambire village to see how traditional drums are made then proceed to the equator monument in Kayabwe for a photo shoot and refreshments. You will then continue to Mbarara where you will have lunch. Shortly after lunch, you will head straight to the park where you will check-in at the lodge for dinner and overnigh
Day 2: Gorilla trekking, Mgahinga. After an early breakfast, drive to the park headquarters with lunch boxes for a pre-tracking briefing. You will then begin the trek moving through a range of habitats including forests, bamboo, and moorland. A day’s trek through the forest of Mgahinga with an experienced and knowledgeable guide will be so rewarding as he explains to you about the gorilla behavior and the entire forest ecosystem along the way. You will drive back to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.
Day 3: Mgahinga>Kampala. Have breakfast at the lodge, check out and depart for Kampala with a stopover for lunch en route. Optional drop off at your hotel or the airport for your flight.
