This 4 days safari takes you to the endangered gorillas and other primates in Volcanoes National Park. This iconic Forest has much more to offer than gorillas. Dian Fossey, a die hard for the Gorillas set up her base in the Volcanoes while carrying out research on the endangered gentle giants. Volcanoes National Park is also home to Golden monkeys, spotted hyena, forest elephants, black-fronted duiker, and bushbuck.
Detailed Itinerary – 4 Days Gorillas & Golden Monkeys RW
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali – Volcanoes National Park
.Meet Jewel Safaris driver at the airport or hotel if already in Rwanda, briefing on your safari and start for Volcanoes National Park. Depending on flight schedule you will have a city tour and visit the genocide memorial center. Later, transfer to the Volcanoes National Park. Approximately 3hrs drive. Lunch in Kigali City and proceed to the lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking.
Takes App.3- 6hrs Following early morning breakfast, you will transfer to Volcanoes National Park headquarters for briefing on the Gorilla walk. Enter the forest sanctuary in search of gorillas. You will be led by knowledgeable and experienced rangers who share detailed information on the primates and flora and fauna of Volcanoes National Park. Meet the Gorillas, watch them interact, feed and take photos. No question an hour spent with the gentle giants is an unrivalled experience. Later, follow your foot steps back to the lodge in time for lunch.
In the afternoon you will visit the neighboring local community named “Ibyiwacu”. This is an organized community offering cultural experiences like dances, story telling and others. Return to the lodge for relaxation

Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking and Dian Fossey Visit.
After breakfast, you will transfer to the Forest and search for the beautiful golden monkeys. Later, you Visit Dian Fosseys Grave – the legendary researcher and Gorilla Conservationist who dedicated her life to the gentle giants. Meals and overnight accommodation at Mt. Gorilla View Lodge or Five Volcanoes Lodge
Day 4: Return to Kigali – Departure.
After breakfast, start for Kigali city with stops at places of interest for craft shopping, stretching and photography. Proceed to the airport arriving in time for your onward international flight/ drop off at your hotel in Kigali.
