Oh Yeah! We did it! “With a lot of reasons to give up, we had one motivator, to see the appearance of the top, the surrounding beauty and the undeniably favorite gesture of grasping the freshest air in the different elevation.” It came with a lot of untold significance after we reached to the top. It was supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. In today’s write up, we bring you the memories and experiences we gathered with our clients who chose to travel with Jewel safaris to Amabere Ganyinamwiru and then to the Nyakasura hills. Sit and get ready to book too.
Amabere ganyinamwiru caves
For several times many have frequented to Amabere ganyinamwiru caves, the embedded beauty here has wholly swallowed their travel urge denying them the opportunity and enough interest to seek for more. On this particular Uganda safari, after us visiting the adjacent Amabere Ga Nyinamwiru waterfalls and caves, everything seemed unfamiliar like we have never been here before. The beauty, then storylines, the guides, the nature, the magical waterfalls and the hard muddy trails we passed through gave us the experiences that till now cannot be erased from our minds and souls. The magnificence laid on this small and seemingly insignificant place was truly irresistible. Just like that and now with an open mind unlike before the Nyakasura hills were the next target for our next adventure exploration. At this point I had been blown away already by the mind boggling beauty of the caves and its surroundings and I felt like I was ready for anything coming next.
Nyakasura hills
Upon return from the caves, we were told to go for some trekking to the next Nyakasura hills that were in a nearby walk-able distance. After few meters of walk, we were at the base of the hill. The hill stood daunting, long and steep with an elevation of about 1,657 feet above sea level in front of us and amongst us we must admit many felt a dread creeping up in them and a cold rush down our peoples’ spines but guess what they let it all down and definitely got ready to get to the top of the hill because we all thought like nothing is impossible yet with that innocent look of fear deep inside.
Feeling all youthful, energetic and healthy we were ready to take on the Nyakasura hills and the trek to the top began. Due to lack of physical fitness, after several minutes of the hike, several of others were out of breath due to the steepness of the hill and the hiking pace was slowed than the initial one. However, there was unusual fresh crystal air and the heavenly atmosphere that kept rejuvenating the strength and the breath of the team. We kept doing self-encouragement and encouraging each other aiming at the top where we anticipated greater views. At this moment, everything changed like the walking postures changed from straight backs to curvature, others were almost walking on all fours, panting like hunter dogs. Surely, it was exhilarating.
At this moment, we literally felt our hearts beating in our mouths and almost vomiting them out, our chests thumped heavily and above all hurting. Many of us almost gave up but then we remembered that we had come from far and yet still, we were told we would use a different route to go back down. This rejuvenated the exhausted team that had sat down for a couple of minutes. Also the better views we promised ourselves upon reaching the top bounced us on feet. Still the need to make it to the top that has been our lives’ important lessons in life were learnt and same time applied that day. We did occasional stops and then brisk walks to get to the top faster and as it is patience pays, the patience and perseverance finally paid off handsomely.
And oh my! The feeling of getting to the top is heavenly and makes you forget the long hard hike up here, the tranquility, relief and joy makes you rather delight in the beautiful scenery and the fresh cool breeze. Four crystal glowing crater lakes, green hills with a few scattered local homes and the Nyakasura hills serenity in a distance are breath taking. At this point we wholly didn’t remember of the piercing pain in my chest, the dry throat, shivering legs that almost gave me away to the ground, and overly heated sweating body, I simply just let the beauty sink in, cause I knew I needed more than just still picture memories- my brains take the best pictures than my camera so I took my time to take in the majesty of the place and its creator.
After we were done catching our breath, and had, had enough mental, still and digital picture we gathered what was left of us and made our way down the Nyakasura hills on the opposite side which is less steeper but equally greener, encountering a few homesteads and people.
