4 days Moroto cultural tour is an experience which will take place in the north eastern part of Uganda where you will hike Mount Moroto and also engage in a nomadic experience in Karamoja.
Detailed itinerary
Day 1; pick up and drive to Moroto
Your guide will pick you up from Entebbe airport or your hotel in Kampala and welcome you for the safari. You will start your journey to Moroto driving through the eastern part of Uganda in places such as the Mabira rainforest, sugar cane plantations in Lugazi and also Jinja.
You will have lunch in Jinja and after lunch you will be driven to your hotel in Moroto where you will check in and prepare for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2; waterfall spring pool hike on Mount Moroto
You will have breakfast early at the hotel in Moroto and prepare for the waterfall spring hike on Mount Moroto. Mount Moroto is the highest mountain in Karamoja sub region and it is located on the border of Kenya and Uganda. During the waterfall spring pool hike on Mount Moroto, you will hike about 10 km to the natural spring pool that flows over the steep ridge of the mountain down the plains.
This hike takes about 5 to 6 hours and after returning from the hike, you will be driven to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3; nature walk, traditional village visit and nomad cattle keepers visit
After having breakfast early at the hotel, you will prepare for the day’s activities including a nature walk, visiting a traditional village and also getting a feel of the nomadic pastoral life of Uganda’s last traditional living nomadic cattle keepers with a visit to a kraal.
You will return to the hotel after completing the day’s activities and you will have your dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4; departure
Your breakfast will be served early at the hotel in Kotido and your guide will drive you back to Kampala with stops along the way for lunch and you will be dropped off in Kampala at the hotel or at Entebbe international airport which will bring the tour to an end.
