14 Days Kenya and Tanzania
Overview
Day 1: Nairobi > Masai Mara.
Pick up from your Nairobi hotel or direct from the airport and be transferred to our office for the briefing over the Kenya camping safari. Meet other tourists and the Kenyan safari driver guide between 08. 00 am and 8.30 am, together we start the safari and drive to Masai Mara. Make a stopover at the great rift valley viewpoint to witness the escarpment wall and Narok town for early lunch. Arrive at Miti Mingi Eco Camp in the late afternoon for check-in, freshen up and proceed for an introductory game drive. Search for the Masai mara game reserve wild animals till you witness the sunset, return to the camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Masai Mara .
After breakfast, your guide will pick you from your camp at 07.45 am and proceed on a full-day game viewing within the reserve. The landscape here is scenic savannah grassland on rolling hills. The reserve is the best park for game in Kenya with a good road network that allows for close-range viewing of the animals. Break for your picnic lunch near the hippo pool, looking out for hippos and crocodiles. After the evening game drive optional visit the Masai Village at an extra fee payable direct. Dinner, Bonfire, and overnight at Miti Mingi Eco Camp.
Day 3: Masai Mara> Lake Nakuru .
Early morning game drive at Masai mara game reserve to track the wild cats the predators and other animals, the prey while grazing on wet grassland. See the sunrise and return to the campsite for a full breakfast, check out and leave the Masai mara region for Lake Nakuru. Arrive at Nakuru town CityMax Hotel in the early evening, check-in, and before dinner at 1900 hrs relax or take a nature walk. Later return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Lake Nakuru > Lake Naivasha.
Breakfast at the Nakuru hotel, check out before 0800 hrs, and drive to Lake Nakuru National park for a game drive. Visit the Rhinoceros sanctuary to see the endangered black and white rhinos and the lake to search for the pink flamingos. Lake Nakuru National Park is small in size but its beauty is worth a visit, drive to the baboon cliff for a thrilling view of the baboons. Between 1030 hrs and 1100 hrs exit Lake Nakuru and drive to Naivasha to arrive in time for hot lunch. Afternoon and evening spent at leisure with an option to drive to the lake for an optional boat ride at extra cost. Dinner and overnight will be served at Taphe Guest Resort Naivasha.
Day 5: Hells Gate> Amboseli.
Depart the hotel immediately after breakfast and drive to Hell’s Gate for registration, decide to cycle, or enjoy a drive. Hell’s gate national park is one of the places in Kenya where you can walk alongside the wild animals as there no predators. Take great pictures with an animal background as you descend down to the Hell’s Gate Gorge. At the Gorge, you can enjoy a guided nature walk with the local guides to spice up your Kenya safari memories. Later ascend to the gate exit and leave Naivasha with a stopover for hot lunch and drive to Amboseli National Park. Arrive at Kimana Amboseli Camp before sunset for check-in, relaxation, dinner, Bonfire, and overnight.
Day 6: Amboseli. Amboseli National Park
the land of the large herds of Elephants and immense views of Mount Kilimanjaro. After breakfast leaves with packed picnic lunches to enable an extensive game drive in Amboseli National Park. Cross the Amboseli national park plains with a game drive and up-close encounters with wild animals. Stopover at the Amboseli national park viewpoint for amazing views of this park, picnic lunches at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. Visit the swampy area for an exciting game drive as elephants graze and bathe in abundance. In the evening exit the park and drive to the campsite for an optional activity, dinner, bonfire, and overnight.
Day 7: Amboseli> Nairobi.
Early morning game drive in Amboseli National Park to enjoy final wild animal viewing and take the last safari clicks. Witness the safari and views of Mount Kilimanjaro, return to the campsite for a full breakfast, check out and leave Amboseli. Drive to Nairobi for dinner, overnight in a budget hotel. ( or upgrade as per agreement)
Day 8: Nairobi> Arusha .
In the morning you will be picked and transferred to the departure point to catch the shuttle bus to Arusha. It is a comfortable drive of approx. 5 hours whereby you can really enjoy the beauty of the nature while leaving Kenya and entering Tanzania through the borders at Namanga. After passports are checked, the drive continues and we arrive in Arusha in time for lunch and check in a budget hotel in Arusha. The afternoon is spend on leisure to relax before the Tanzanian safari will start the following day. Dinner and overnight in a budget hotel.
Day 9: Nairobi> Arusha> Lake Manyara.
Today you will go to Tanzania by shuttle bus that will pick you up from your hotel at approximately 8:00 am. The drive to Arusha takes approximately 5 hours on tarmac roads. The road to Arusha offers the traveler the opportunity to see Kenya as it really is. Beautiful plains, little to sparsely populated by the tribes that live in these areas. On the way we have a sanitary stop. At the border, documents such as passport and visa are checked and sometimes the suitcases are examined. If you do not have a visa, you can apply for this at customs and you will receive a sticker in your passport. Lunch on arrival, then on your way to Lake Manyara for your first game drive in Tanzania. Lake Manyara is a small park but very beautiful because of the many greenery, the dozens of monkeys that provide entertainment. Also known for the lions that climb the trees. Unfortunately not every traveler is lucky to be able to see it, but pay attention! Picnic lunch, dinner and overnight at the campsite / or in the lodge. The campsite in Lake Manyara is located outside park.
Day 10: Lake Manyara> Serengeti
After breakfast you will depart for Serengeti National Park, game drive en route, dinner and overnight at Seronera campsite or lodge. Serengeti is a wellknown name, famous because of discovery channel where Serengeti regularly appears in one of the nature documentaries often in combination with the Masai Mara. The Symphony of the Serengeti, which many have heard of. Hugo van Lawick was the director, a well-known nature film maker who was married for ten years to Jane Goodall (known for the chimpanzees). Meals and overnight at the seronera campsite or lodge.
Day 11: Serengeti.
Full day in the park with picnic lunch, dinner and overnight at the Seronera campsite or a lodge.
Day 12: Serengeti> Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast game drive, then back to the campsite / or lodge for lunch. After lunch, departure to Ngorongoro Crater for dinner and overnight at Simba campsite / or your lodge. The Ngorongoro is a crater with a depth of about 700 meters. Rivers and springs feed a swamp and soda lake. For the rest, the landscape varies from dry open grassland to scrub zones and deciduous forest. Lions, elephants (bulls only), birds, hippos, moose, cheetahs, hyenas, gazelles, wildebeest, zebras, buffalo and meerkats live here. Because the crater is not that big there is a big chance you see the big five here. It can get quite cold at the top of the crater where the camping site is located, so be dressed for that in the nights! Note that the campsite is very basic ! The lodge of Tanzania hotels and lodges and the Sopa lodges offer a magnificent view over the crater.
Day 13: Ngorongoro Crater> Tarangire
After breakfast on the way to the crater with a picnic lunch to descend the crater to 2000 feet for a crater tour. Once inside the crater, you can do nothing but admire this natural phenomenon in all its splendor. An incredible silence far away from civilization….
Picnic lunch in the park, late afternoon drive to Tarangire for dinner and overnight at a budget hotel / lodge
Day 14: Tarangire> Arusha.
After breakfast with a picnic lunch on the way for a final game drive in Tarangire. Picnic lunch in the park. Tarangire has swampy savannas interspersed with acacias and large baboba trees. Here you will find elephants, lions, giraffes, impalas, waterbuck, but also the dangerous python snake feels at home here! Tarangire is known for its large elephant herds that can keep you entertained for hours while bathing in the Tarangire River. Return to Arusha in the late afternoon to end a magical safari!
This safari can be booked as a camping safari whereby you can join others ( small groups max 7 in Kenya and max 6 in Tanzania depended from size of landcruiser) or as a private or lodge safari.
