Wildebeest Migration
The annual wildebeest migration is acknowledged as one of the 7 natural wonders of the world and the greatest wildlife spectacles. It is a repeated movement of over 1.5 million wildebeest and other animals through the Serengeti Masai Mara environment searching for greener pastures and water. This movement is influenced by the response to weather patterns. The great wildebeest migration can be experienced at any time of the year. The early months of the year offer views of the birth of the newborns making them prey to the predators. Close to July, the herds move northwards, central Serengeti making the first crossing of the river and in August they cut across into Kenya’s Masai Mara. As the ear approaches to end, they migrate back to Serengeti as they prepare for calving.
Ngorongoro Crater drive
It is the largest caldera in the world and a UNESCO world heritage site. The Ngorongoro crater provides excellent wildlife viewing throughout the whole year with highlights of the famous big five Empakaai and Olmoti craters and sights of pink flamingos. Discover and learn about the culture of the Masai, the keepers of the land by visiting a typical traditional homestead. It is the only park where humans coexist with wildlife.Gorilla Trekking
A safari highlight in Uganda and Rwanda is the gorilla trekking experience. As much as gorilla trekking is expensive, it is worth the money and the effort. Gorilla trekking in Uganda is done in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, and in Rwanda, one can see mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park. The mind-blowing experience requires physical fitness since you have to hike through the forested areas to encounter the gentle giants as they go about their day. The hour spent with the mountain gorillas gives you an insight into their behavior and different characteristics. Watch them feed their young ones, play, and copulating.
