Overview
Lulimbi Tented Camp is nestled in the heart of Virunga National Park and serves as a haven for many of the park’s elephants and hippos. Its prime location provides excellent access to savannah wildlife, experienced rangers, and an opportunity to engage in the area’s conservation efforts from a peaceful, off-the-beaten-path setting. The camp features a shared mess tent and eight en-suite sleeping tents.
Food & Service
The camp offers a dedicated dining tent with a restaurant and bar, as well as a separate lounge tent equipped with a well-stocked bar. Rates include breakfast, lunch, and dinner, while alcoholic beverages are charged separately.
Standard Safari Chalet
Lulimbi Tented Camp comprises 10 private tents: four with two twin beds, four with double beds, and two with three twin beds. Each tent includes an en-suite bathroom with a solar-powered shower and flushing toilet. Positioned along the Ishasha River, all tents feature private verandas offering front-row views of passing hippos.
Activities
Guests at Lulimbi Tented Camp can participate in various activities, including elephant monitoring with rangers, chimpanzee habituation walks, birdwatching, game drives, boat excursions on Lake Edward, tilapia fishing, and visits to the Nyakakoma fishing village.

Conservation
Virunga National Park has faced significant challenges from armed conflict in the past. However, with dedicated efforts from park rangers and financial support, the park—along with Lulimbi Tented Camp—has persevered, ensuring the protection and preservation of its rich biodiversity.
