Kibumba Tented Camp

Overview

Kibumba Tented, which opened in 2017, serves as the primary accommodation for gorilla trekking in Virunga and is on the misty slopes of Mount Mikeno. Kibumba provides sweeping views of the volcanic valley extending to the Mitumba Mountains. Alongside Mount Mikeno, three additional Virunga volcanoes can be seen to the south: Karisimbi, Nyiragongo, and Nyamulagira. The latter two are active volcanoes that delight visitors with their glow after sunset.

Standard Safari Chalet

The 18 two-person tents are not only but also exceptionally comfortable,-sized beds with starched white linens and hot-water bottles neatly placed between the sheets for cooler evenings. En-suite bathrooms are with toilets and hot showers. Additionally, each tent is provided with two wall outlets for charging or phones, overhead lighting, and an ample supply of refilled bottled water.
