Nairobi Animal Orphanage in Kenya
The Nairobi Orphanage serves as a treatment and rehabilitation for wild animals. It was established in 1964, the orphanage is the oldest of its kind in Kenya and it also serves as an educational and training facility where more than 20 different animal species and bird species are rehabilitated back to good health after being abandoned and injured. The animal orphanage is so much open to the general public to tour and also allows safari walks inside. All the animals receive a medical examination and necessary treatment before being placed in a feeding and rehabilitation program based on its individual needs. One of the most important projects is to breed certain animal species which saves wild species from being captured and also avoids large numbers of deaths in the catching process. The area has a concrete strip about 3 feet inside of the fence so that they can walk on the dry ground. They even want to re-site the Nairobi Animal Orphanage and change the name to the Nairobi Park Education Centre.

In this place, you see animals that have survived illness, abandonment, and injuries. These animals are survivors of diversity. It is really amazing to watch them fight for their second chance at life. Every cage of an animal is labeled with information about each animal.
