OVERVIEW
The Lemosho Route is considered as the most beautiful route on Mount Kilimanjaro boasting panoramic vistas on various sides of the mountain, the trek from Barranco to Barafu is divided into 2 days allowing climbers to stay a shorter period prior to the summit attempt so that they can rest properly. This route is a favorite route for climbers as it offers a great balance of low traffic, scenic views and high summit – success rate.

DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Airport pick-up
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International airport, visitors will be picked up by the staff of Jewel Safaris and be driven to the lodge in Arusha, in the evening you will have a short briefing about the climb and checkout all the necessary equipment and kits.
Have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: Londorossi Gate to Forest Camp
After breakfast, depart for Londorossi Gate on a drive of about 2 hours. Here you will fill out all the necessary formalities then drive to the Lemosho trail – head which is an hour’s drive away. You will have lunch and then commence on a walk-through undisturbed forest which winds all the way to the first camp site.

Hiking Time: 3-4 hours

Day 3: Forest Camp to Shira Camp 1
Continue hiking through the trail leading out of the forest and into a savannah of tall grasses, heather and volcanic rocks draped with lichen beards. Continue ascending through the lush rolling hills and across several stream, reach the Shira Ridge then drop gently down to Shira 1 Camp. From here, you will witness an exhilarating view of Kibo from across the plateau.

Day 4: Shira Camp 1 to Shira Camp 2
Explore the Shira Plateau for a full day. It is a gentle walk east towards Kibo’s glaciered peak, across the plateau leading you to the Shira 2 Camp on Moorland meadows by a stream. There are a variety of walks on Lent Hills making this an excellent opportunity for acclimatization.
Shira is one of the highest plateaus on earth.

Day 5: Shira Camp 2 to Barranco Camp
From the Shira Plateau, the climb continues to the east up a ridge, passing the junction towards the peak of Kibo, the direction changes to the South East towards the Lava Tower called the Shark’s Tooth. Shortly after the tower, you will come to the second junction which brings us up to the Arrow Glacier at an altitude of 16,000ft. continue down to the Burraco Hut at an altitude of 13,000 ft., here you will rest, have dinner and sleep.
Note: You will end the day at the same elevation as when you started, this day is very important for acclimatization and will help your body prepare for summit day.

Day 6: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
After breakfast, leave the Burranco camp and continue on a steep ridge passing the Barranco Wal all the way to the Karanga Valley campsite, this will be a short day of walking intended for acclimatization.

Day 7: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
After break, leave Karanga and hit the junction which connects with the Mweka Trail and then continues up to the Barafu Hut. At this point you would have completed the South Circuit which offers stunning views of the summit from various angles, this is also where you will camp, rest, enjoy dinner and prepare for the summit day.
From this position, you can see two peaks of Mawenzi and Kibo.

Day 8: Barafu Camp to Summit (Uhuru Peak) to Mweka Hut
At around 2 am, you will continue the climb heading the summit between the Rebmann and Ratzel glacier. Head northwest and ascend through heavy scree towards Stella Point on the crater rim, this is the most mentally and physically challenging portion of the trek.
At Stella Point, you will have a stop for a short rest and take in the magnificent sunrise. You may encounter snow all the way on your 1-hour ascent to the summit. At Uhuru Peak, you would have reached the highest point of Mount Kilimanjaro and Africa.
From the summit, you will descend straight down to the Mweka Hut Camp and stop at Barafu for lunch. Mweka Camp is situated in the upper forest and mist or rain can be expected in the late afternoon.Later in the evening, you will have the last dinner on the mountain and have sleep.

Day 9: Mweka Hut to Arusha
After breakfast, continue with the descent down to the Mweka Park Gate where you will be rewarded with summit certificate. At the elevations, it can be wet and muddy but gaiters and trekking poles will help, it is also best to keep rain gear and warm clothing. From the gate, you will continue to Mweka village on a walk of 1 hour.
From there, you will meet your driver and drive you back to your hotel in Arusha where you will be dropped off either at the airport or at the hotel.

Safari Overview
2 Days Tsavo East National Park Safari Kenya. Tsavo East National Park is one of the world’s greatest wildlife sanctuaries noted for its vast elephant herds, wildlife, and bird species. The animals here include lions, giraffes, buffalo, and leopards to mention a few.

- Day 1: Transfer to Tsavo East National Park
- Day 2: Game drive and transfer to Mombasa
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Mombasa > Tsavo.
After your early breakfast, you will be picked up by our professional safari driver guide from the hotel, who briefs you about the whole safari and transfer you to Tsavo East National Park. He will drive along the Mombasa –Nairobi highway through the semi-arid countryside to the home of various wildlife known as Tsavo East National Park. You will be able to spot different things and activities done by the people along the way.
On arrival in Tsavo, we will use the entry gate at Bachuma and check-in. Proceed with the safari along the park road heading to your lodge but still, you may have a chance of viewing animals.
When heading to the lodge, you will pass via Aruba Dam and Kanderi swamp where you might spot some animals drinking water especially during the sunny days or dry seasons. Arrive at the lodge and check-in then have lunch, refresh yourself, and relax a bit while waiting for an evening game drive.
At 16:00 pm, the driver guide will pick you up for another game drive where you will continue spotting more animals like lions, buffaloes, giraffes, antelopes, zebras, hyenas, herds of elephants, and warthog to mention a few.
An evening game drive enables you to view a lot of animals as they head back from hunting and when looking for where to take a rest. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight
Day 2: Tsavo East > Mombasa.
On the last day in Tsavo East National Park , you will take an early morning breakfast and head for a morning game drive till mid-day with the possibility of viewing the big five and other wildlife species that you could have missed on the previous day’s game drive. After the drive, the safari driver guide will drive you to Mombasa arriving in the afternoon then have lunch. After lunch, you will be dropped at the hotel in Mombasa.
