7 days Uganda family safari will start with arrival and pick up from Entebbe airport and visiting the zoo for a tour behind the scenes and spending the day close to the animals and getting to learn how to take care of the animals. You will also visit the equator, Lake Mburo national park for different activities including nature walks, game drives, and a boat cruise in the national park.

Detailed Itinerary: 7 Days Uganda Family Safari

Day 1; Arrival

Your safari will start with pick up from Entebbe international airport by your guide who will welcome you for the safari and drive you to the hotel for check-in. Accommodation; Papyrus guesthouse

Day 2; visit the zoo for behind the scenes tour

After having breakfast at the hotel, your guide will drive you to the Uganda Wildlife Education center or the zoo for the behind-the-scenes tour. The behind-the-scenes tour gives insight into the wildlife and birds at the zoo and you also get close to the animals and also learn how to take care of the animals. You will return to the hotel for lunch and later enjoy a tour around Entebbe. Accommodation; Papyrus guesthouse

Day 3; drive to the equator and visit Lake Mburo park for a game drive

You will start your day with breakfast at the lodge and your guide will drive you to Lake Mburo national park. You will have a stop at the equator and enjoy photos and also seeing the local arts and crafts. After the equator experience, you will be driven to Lake Mburo national park where you will check in at the lodge for lunch and later take part in a game drive around the national park in search of wildlife species such as buffalos, zebras, hippos, impalas, warthogs, lions, jackals, common elands among others. Day 4; guided nature walk and evening boat cruise

You will have breakfast at the lodge and prepare for a guided nature walk around Lake Mburo national park. You will explore the savannah plains of the park on foot and also enjoy seeing wildlife species such as zebras, elands, hippos, and buffalos among others as you walk around and also enjoy the views. After having lunch, you will also enjoy an afternoon boat cruise on Lake Mburo and get to see wildlife species and various birds and later return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Day 5; drive to Mbarara for a cultural tour

After breakfast at the lodge, you will check out and your guide will drive you to Mbarara for a cultural tour. You will engage in Okucunda which is a practice done by the Ankole women. this process involves churning milk to make ghee using hands and Ekishaboo. You will also enjoy a traditional dance experience later at the lodge and also join in. Accommodation; Emburara farm lodge

Day 6; full day cultural tour at Emburara farm

Wake up early for an experience called Okukama which is the milking of the cows usually done by men. The activity is done early in the morning between 6:00 am to 7:30 am and involves cleaning the cow, massaging the cow as an expression of love for the cow, releasing calves from their mother’s pen and after milking, the milk is put in gourds and later the cows are taken for grazing. You will also engage in taking water to the cattle and also cleaning the milk containers in the evening and finally bringing the cows home. Later you will relax by a fireplace and enjoy listening to stories and traditional dances as you prepare for dinner and overnight stay. Accommodation; Emburara farm lodge

Day 7; drive to Entebbe airport and departure
