4 days gorilla habituation and culture safari is an ideal Uganda gorilla safari for visitors who wish to spend more time with the endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat, also you will enjoy a cultural experience with the Batwa People also called the Batwa People. 

This Uganda gorilla habituation safari takes up on an adventure to Bwindi impenetrable national park where gorilla habituation experience is only done in the world. Unlike mountain gorilla trekking, gorilla habituation experience visitors are allowed to spend 4 hours with the gorillas in the forest.

DETAILED ITINERARY OF 4 DAYS GORILLA HABITUATION AND CULTURE SAFARI

Day 1: Arrival to Entebbe

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by our representative and transfer you to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day relaxing at the hotel, have dinner and stay overnight. 

Meal: Dinner

Accommodation: Lake Victoria Hotel Entebbe

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park 

After breakfast at the lodge, you will be picked by your guide and embark on a drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. From Kampala, it is a drive of approximately 10 hours to Bwindi. 

Along the way you will have a stopover at the Equator monument for pictures and have a chance to stand in two hemispheres that is northern and southern hemispheres. Proceed to Mbarara where you will have lunch and proceed to the park with spectacular views of the green terraced hills of Kisoro, arrive in the park in the evening, check into your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Gorilla Habituation Experience

Wake up early for breakfast and head to the park’s headquarters for briefing which commences at 08:00 am, a senior ranger guide will take you through rules and regulations to follow during this experience. In groups of 4 people together with researchers and scientists, you will head into forests of Bwindi. 

Gorilla Habituation Experience offers visitors a chance to take part in the process of creating another mountain gorilla family, you will study the behavior of the gorillas, their characters and see how they are tamed in forts of creating a friendly relationship between man and these most elusive giant apes. 

After 4 hours, you will head back to the park’s headquarters to pick your certificates and head to your Batwa village for a cultural experience. The Batwa people used to live in the forests of Bwindi and when the park was designated as a park, they were evicted to the areas around the park. You will be entertained by local dances and drama, visit the local herbalists, taste some of the local meals among other fascinating activities. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Departure

After breakfast, you will checkout of the lodge and embark on a journey back to Kampala with en-route lunch in Mbarara. When you arrive in Kampala, you will be dropped off at the airport for your departure back home.
