3 days Samburu National Game Reserve Safari

Overview

This safari offers one of the best of Kenya’s wildlife encounters involving carrying out the most exciting game drives while viewing lots of wildlife such as cheetahs, buffalo, leopards, zebra, oryx, gerenuk, elephants, etc.

Brief Itinerary

• Day 1: Samburu National Park
• Day 2: Full Day Game Drive
• Day 3: Return to Nairobi

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi> Samburu.

You will be picked up from you hotel in Nairobi and leave for the 5 to 6 hours to Samburu. Gamedrive en route to the lodge or campsite. Lunch at arrival if you booked a lodge safari or lunch on the way if you booked a camping safari. You will pass through many villages and trading centers on your way, a good opportunity to visit to a local market and/or handicraft workshop. After lunch, you will be taken for an afternoon game drive for your first encounter with the huge array of wildlife that is in the park.

After the game drive, you will return to your accommodation facility, refresh, and have dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Samburu National Park.

After breakfast, you will be taken for an early morning game drive, a lot of wildlife is best seen early in the day, as they feed or hunt. There are many water holes and salt licks with shady areas that attract the wildlife, and you shall be taken to these spots for the best game viewing.

Lunch will be served in the park in the form of a picnic, which will maximize your exposure to the animals. After the lunch break, you will continue with the game viewing and photographing of the enormous array of animals to be encountered.  Samburu has many predators, and watching these animals hunt and catch their prey, is quite a common sight for visitors.

Later in the afternoon, you will return to the lodge to freshen up, have dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Samburu> Nairobi:

After breakfast, you will be driven back to Nairobi.  arriving in the late afternoon. Depending on your schedule, you can choose to visit the Giraffe Centre in Karen on the return journey, where you will have an opportunity to feed and stroke the giraffes that live here.

You will then either be taken to your hotel in Nairobi or driven to Jomo Kenyatta Airport to catch your next flight.
