Christmas Gorilla group is a newly habituated gorilla family group located in Nkuringo in the southern sector of Bwindi impenetrable national park. It has successfully led to the increase in number of Gorilla permits. This gorilla group is headed by Christmas, a dominant silverback that was born on Christmas day.The Christmas gorilla family has 9 members though usually only 6 members canbe seen. The family has a recent addition of a new baby born to an adult female called Nyabwoba on January 20th, 2022. This makes the total of 7 members. Nkuringo sector has 3 habituated gorilla families; Nkuringo, Bushaho and Christmas. With these 3 gorilla families, 24 gorilla permits from 8 are now available for tourists planning to track from this remarkable region/sector.
