Visit Karongi beach Rwanda

Karongi beach is found in Karongi, a district commonly known as Akarere, in the western province of Rwanda. Karongi district has a capital called Rubengera.

Karongi district contains other areas like Kibuye the provincial capital and major Rwanda lakeside Resort. Karongi is located on the shores of Lake Kivu just about halfway down lake Gisenyi and Cyangugu.

The area is divided into different sectors [Imirenge] which include; Rugabano, Murambi, Getesi, Bwishura, Gishari, Burundi, Mubuga, and Twumbu.

In the landlocked country Rwanda, Karongi beach is conceivably the most popular place /beach for family retreats, vacations, kayak and boating adventure, and great adventure safaris. For birders, there’s a place in the northwest of Karongi known as Mukura forest with over 150 species of which 17 are indigenous to the Albert Nile. Mukura is completely a mountain rainforest with an average altitude of 2,600m, the area is acknowledged as a national park in 2015.
